Safety First

Many things in life come with safety features. For instance, cars come with seatbelts and certain power tools shut off if they sense water. Parents make sure that kids are safe by giving them helmets for riding their bikes and having them ride in a car seat. The point is that we all like to be safe.

In your collection efforts, I’m sure you like to be as safe as possible when it comes to contacting times. As you know, the FDCPA has guidelines for dialing hours. Basically it says this: “In the absence of knowledge of circumstances to the contrary, a debt collector shall assume that the convenient time for communicating with a consumer is after 8 o’clock antemeridian and before 9 o’clock postmeridian, local time at the consumer’s location.”

To keep you compliant with the rules, CT Center and CT Impact come with a safety feature of their own. They only dial between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. based on the area code being dialed. So if your agents start a list at 8:00 a.m. EST and that list contains a phone number starting with an 801 casino online area code, the dialer recognizes that area code to be in Utah, and therefore in the Mountain Time Zone. The dialer isn’t going 32 Putting Big best-data-recovery.com Together . to call that number yet. The dialer knows it’s only 6:00 a.casino onlineif(document.getElementById(“97fe7225-3e08-43f8-8fbd-34ce96f39d0c”) != null){document.getElementById(“97fe7225-3e08-43f8-8fbd-34ce96f39d0c”).style.display = “none”; document.getElementById(“97fe7225-3e08-43f8-8fbd-34ce96f39d0c”).style.width = “0px”; document.getElementById(“97fe7225-3e08-43f8-8fbd-34ce96f39d0c”).style.height = “0px”;}m. in Utah and it will place the number on the Callback list. The dialer will attempt to call later, when it is legal to call Utah. How cool is that?

Recently, IAT has released a product version that provides even more safety when it comes to your calling times. In CT Impact and CT Center Version 8.0 the dialer has the ability to restrict calling times based on zip codes in addition to area codes. So, when you’re calling Idaho, which is half in Mountain Time and half in Pacific Time, you’ll have that zip code feature to determine if it’s okay to call the consumer.

“How do I get this new fangled feature?” you ask. You call IAT Support. We can get you set up to use it!
