Have you ever done the same thing over and over and expected different results? I go to the same bad fast food joints and come away each time complaining and wondering why the food isn’t getting better.  Stupid me, huh? Sometimes that works, but you know what Albert Einstein is quoted as saying, “Insanity:  doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” When I hear this, I always think of the “Cliffs of Insanity” in Princess Bride, but I digress. Well this goes right along with dialing campaigns. You may get some different results from calling the same numbers over and over in the same sequence, BUT you probably won’t.

How can you get the best results from your dialing campaigns? Here are 4 tips to help.

  1. Have a purpose. Decide what you want to get out of the campaign. Is it phone scrubbing? Is it first contacting? Is it low balance payments with no agent contacting? Decide first online casino and then monitor the results to see if it’s working. Don’t just do, do and then monitor and adjust.
  2. Keep your lists clean. After each campaign is run, make sure to remove bad phone numbers. The dialer reports bad numbers, meaning disconnects, bad physical numbers, wrong number contacts, etc. Why keep calling these numbers; you will just waste everyone’s time, especially the dialers.
  3. Select accounts that have the most potential for results. Call broken promises to do automatic follow up. Call promises before promise due dates to remind. Reverse the sequence of dialing so the same accounts aren’t always being called first; sometimes account sorted on the bottom of lists never get attempted.

With better campaign management, we won’t go insane trying the same thing expecting different results, and maybe I should try better eating establishments.
